World Franchising Network Selects 50 Top Franchises for Military Veterans

OAKLAND, CA (January 14, 2011) – As part of a targeted new website and recruitment program for military veterans, the World Franchising Network has selected its second annual list of “50 Top Franchises for Veterans.” The results of this survey were featured in the January 14, 2011 issue of USA Today in the Franchising Today section and were widely disseminated at the Franchise Expo South in Miami. To view a digital version of the article, click here. For a complete listing of the companies selected and their websites, please click here.
The 50 companies included were selected from hundreds of companies requesting evaluation for inclusion in the article. There was no cost to participate in the survey. Each participating franchisor was required to submit a completed questionnaire describing the specific financial incentives provided to veterans by the franchisor.  The questionnaire also noted the number (both absolute and as a percentage of the total number) of operating units owned by veterans, as well as the number of veterans in senior management that earned over $60,000 per year. (The questionnaire can be found here.)
“We are extremely pleased at the number of franchisors that not only recognize the sacrifices our servicemen and women have made, but, more importantly, welcome them back into the business world with very generous financial incentives,” said Rob Bond, President.  He added, “As a former veteran who was not welcomed back into society, this is a long overdue change in how we honor our military veterans.”
For a more complete list of over 313 franchise systems that wish to recruit veterans, please visit www.Franchises4Vets.com. The site provides information about the specific incentive programs the franchisors offer to veterans. Franchisors who are not yet listed on the website are welcome to submit a completed questionnaire and company logo – there is no cost for inclusion. It is anticipated that www.Franchises4Vets.com will quickly become the go-to site for veterans interested in franchising.
The Franchises4Vets program was created solely to provide in-depth information about franchising to military veterans. In addition to information about franchisor programs, the website also links to various government programs, lenders, attorneys and transition coaches/consultants. This multi-faceted program involves the www.Franchises4Vets.com website, the upcoming annual publication, Veteran’s Franchise Guide and periodic articles (such as the “50 Top Franchises for Veterans” feature) on the subject.
