Petrochem Fights Petroleum Industry Harmful Viruses – Prevents Spread of Bacteria and Germs With Jan-Pro’s EnviroShield Disinfectant System

Utah’s Skaggs Catholic Center is also using the EviroShield disinfectant system to protect students and infants from harmful contaminants, throughout their 300,000 square-foot daycare, elementary school, high school and church complex.
Alpharetta, GA March 15, 2011 — Jan-Pro International, Inc. (Jan-Pro),  a global leader in commercial cleaning, announced today that their unique EnviroShield Spray Disinfecting System, used to kill harmful bacteria including invasive methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) Infections, announced today two important EnviroShield disinfectant applications -  used by both a leading petroleum industry company, as well as a large        60-acre Catholic campus.
Salt Lake City’s Petrochem insulates pipes and storage tanks for the petroleum industry. The work is tough, and requires their engineers, managers and professionals to be on the job site regularly. In this work environment, exposure to viruses is a common thing, occurring through working with the equipment insulated, contact with petroleum products, as well as through people contact.
In making a serious commitment to creating a germ-free work environment, Petrochem management chose the Jan-Pro EnviroShield Disinfectant System. Healthy employees mean less downtime from sickness, and the ability to meet firm deadlines.
“We were introduced to EnviroShield and liked the concept,” said Dave Nelson, Petrochem Regional Branch Manager. “We started the service in late fall as the building is closed up more and germs and bacteria are more likely to spread. We need to have a full staff here for 9 to 10 hours a day, and so far, our employees have been relatively healthy this season.”
Fighting harmful bacteria has also become a major issue in school systems. Skaggs Catholic Center, in Draper, Utah, is committed to keeping their environment germ-free. Their 60-acre campus contains a daycare center, an elementary school, a high school and church. If not protected, the 300,000 square-foot complex would easily harbor harmful contaminants and bacteria.
In selecting the Jan-Pro EnviroShield Disinfectant System, Skaggs feels they took a major step toward their objective of maintaining a germ-free environment. Attendance is high, and keeping children in school and learning remains a top priority to both the administration, as well as to the parents of Skaggs students.
A powerful, safe disinfectant, coupled with good coverage, creates effectiveness. “Because of the EnviroShield system’s negative charge, the spray attacks and coats 100% of surface areas and leaves no residue, which is especially beneficial with hard to reach areas,” said Dave Olsen, Jan-Pro of Salt Lake City Unit Franchise Owner. “Another benefit is the health safety of the spray. It’s breathable and completely non-carcinogenic, so people can remain in the building as we are applying EnviroShield.”
Today, fighting harmful contaminants has become a very important, serious subject. Even though Petrochem and Skaggs disinfectant applications are different, the objectives are the same: create a germ-free environment. Jan-Pro’s EnviroShield Disinfectant System continues to be the leading solution.

Ophthalmology Surgery Center Meets Government Cleaning Requirements with Jan-Pro’s EnviroShield Disinfectant System

Aiken Ophthalmology in Aiken, SC, multi-physician busy practice, makes fighting bacteria a top priority, demanding  clinically clean environment. Likewise in Georgia , West Lake Country Club  provides premier service, insisting on germ-free fitness and locker room facilities. Both choose the unique Jan-Pro EnviroShield Disinfection System to dramatically reduce harmful contamination.
Alpharetta, GA January 31, 2011 — Jan-Pro International, Inc. (Jan-Pro),  a global leader in commercial cleaning, announced today that their unique EnviroShield Spray Disinfection System, used to kill harmful bacteria including invasive methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) Infections, has been selected for fighting germs by one of the country’s premier ophthalmology surgery centers, as well as a top world-class country club facility.
Aiken Ophthalmology’s Carolina Surgery Center, in South Carolina, prides itself on having board certified physicians who are up to date on the latest procedures. The Center has a reputation as one of the finest in the nation, as management is committed to a clinically clean environment, kept up to governmental regulations. The Jan-Pro EnviroShield Disinfection System is used regularly to fight harmful contaminants.
“We chose to use Jan-Pro’s EnviroShield system at the eye center for its preventative attributes,” said Denise Krok, Administrator. “As both a clinic and a surgical facility, our patients need that extra protection from harmful bacteria and germs.”
Extra protection from harmful bacteria occurs due to the application uniqueness of the EnviroShield system. Disinfectant is applied by electrostatic spray which charges each droplet with a negative charge, and when sprayed has far greater force than gravity, reaching and touching surfaces which traditionally do not get disinfected. The result is 100% disinfection coverage. Harmful bacteria and contaminants are killed in a matter of seconds with this unique Jan-Pro system.
Chris Lieberman, Director of Sales & Marketing for Jan-Pro of Southeast Georgia put it succinctly. “The most important feature and selling point of Jan-Pro’s EnviroShield system is its technology. The 100% surface coverage and ability to kill all harmful bacteria while remaining safe to the touch differentiates Jan-Pro EnviroShield from other cleaning companies. We not only clean for appearance sake, but for the health and safety of our clients, their families and their customers.”
In Augusta, Georgia, the exclusive West Lake Country Club is known by its members as a “pristine” club, offering only the finest in service and facilities. As with all country clubs, West Lake has many high traffic areas requiring disinfection, with fitness and locker room facilities at the top of the list.
After researching options, Bert Morales, Director of Operations, chose Jan-Pro’s EnviroShield to maintain a safe, germ-free environment for club members and employees.  “EnviroShield spray protects every area of our facility, from locker rooms and dining areas to office areas and hard-to-reach surfaces like keyboards,” said Morales. “We feel that the use of EnviroShield creates a more sterile, cleaner environment.”
Growing evidence points to community-acquired infection from harmful bacteria, even MRSA, as a potential threat in opthalmic settings, such as the Aiken eye center, as well as in high-traffic settings such as those at West Lake Country Club. Jan-Pro’s EnviroShield Disinfection System was developed as a solution for today.

What is MRSA?

Did You Know?
Jeff Savino, V.P. Sales, EnviroSystems, Inc.
What is MRSA?
MRSA is a type of Staph bacteria that can cause very serious bacterial infections. MRSA stands for Methicillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus. MRSA is caused by Staphylococcus aureus or “Staph” that has acquired an immunity or resistance to antibiotics. There is no MRSA virus and therefore no MRSA vaccination as some have suggested. With MRSA being so resistant to many of the best antibiotics, it makes treatment of skin infections and invasive internal infections much more problematic, resulting in many deaths each year. A good way of preventing the spread of MRSA is to eliminate it from the surfaces where it can live. EnviroShield is an excellent process to accomplish this task.
EnviroTru is proven effective against MRSA as indicated on its label.

Fact: EnviroTru Meets EPA Requirements for Toxicity Category IV

The EPA rates the toxicity level of disinfectants on a scale of I–IV, with Toxicity Category IV being the least toxic. This rating is based on studies submitted to the EPA which examine a product’s toxicity as it relates to acute oral, acute dermal, acute inhalation and primary eye irritation. Based on these studies, a product is also assigned a “signal word”. The signal words and associated toxicity categories are as follows:
Toxicity Category
Signal Word
Toxicity Category 1
DANGER
Toxicity Category II
WARNING
Toxicity Category III
CAUTION
Toxicity Category IV
NONE REQUIRED¹

¹All Products are required to contain the statement: KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN
EnviroTru® Disinfectant & Deodorizing Cleaner is a unique product that meets EPA requirements for Toxicity Category IV. The safety characteristics are a positive selling feature of EnviroTru and should be highlighted in your sales presentation along with the non-corrosion and materials compatibility feature discussed in last month’s newsletter.

EnviroShield’s Effectiveness Proven at Clean Middle East Magazine Facilities

Jan-Pro’s Unique Disinfection System Launches in Middle East
Distributed in Middle East exclusively by Jan-Pro, EnviroShield Disinfection Demonstration reduces harmful contamination readings from an alarmingly high 173 preliminary reading,  to a safe low reading of only 2 within minutes.
October 19, 2010 — Jan-Pro International, Inc. (Jan-Pro),  a global leader in commercial cleaning, announced today that their unique EnviroShield Spray Disinfecting System, used to kill harmful bacteria including invasive methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) Infections, has been effectively expanded for use in the Middle East.
Clean Middle East Magazine, a publication dedicated to informative content on the cleaning and hygiene industry in the Middle East, recently invited Jan-Pro to demonstrate its EnviroShield Disinfection System at the Clean Middle East Magazine offices in the UAE.
The test was conducted by Terry Kochanowski, Jan-Pro Country Master Franchisee UAE, and Dennis Thompson, Vice President of Jan-Pro Franchising International, Inc.
“The first step is to swab the surface to get the actual reading of the contaminated surface,” said Kochanowski. “Next we apply the EnviroShield Disinfectant through spraying. Then in a couple of minutes, take a reading again to see the huge difference in contaminants.”
The process was carried out just the way Terry described it. To start, the keyboard of a PC at the magazine offices was swabbed and had an alarmingly high contamination reading of 173 on the meter. Remarkably, just minutes later after applying the Jan-Pro EnviroShield spray, the same keyboard had drastically dropped to a reading of merely 2.
“Our EnviroShield Disinfecting System meets all Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) requirements for Toxicity Category IV. There are no harmful ocular, inhalation or ingestion effects. Safely applied, there is no need to cover the eyes, hands or even a coffee cup in the room,” said Dennis Thompson. “We knew going in that Clean Middle East Magazine supports “green cleaning” efforts, and that EnviroShield was designed to be environmentally safe. Once again, the EnviroShield system proved its effectiveness.”
The EnviroShield System uses PCMX (parachlorometaxylenol) as its active ingredient, produced by a proprietary emulsion process resulting in a low concentration of active ingredient equal to 0.02 percent, making it highly effective, yet totally safe. The electrostatic spray charges each droplet (30 microns in size) with a negative charge, and when sprayed has far greater force than gravity, reaching and touching surfaces which traditionally do not get disinfected. The result is 100% disinfection coverage.
Launched on June 1, 2010 in the Middle East, The Jan-Pro EnviroShield Disinfection Spray System is entirely new to this market, and offered through the exclusive distribution of Jan-Pro International, Inc.
“Clean Middle East Magazine prides itself in covering relevant issues, like the dramatic reduction of harmful bacteria and contaminants in the workplace,” continued Kochanowski. “In going from a 173 contaminant reading to a 2 in just minutes, we were delighted to demonstrate how EnviroShield is a disinfection system for one of today‘s important issues in the Middle East.”
